Surf Destinations...  This is an interesting topic! European don't share the same visions of surftrips, as far as the approach and the destinations are concerned.

To sum up the situation:

-Brit's go everywhere, as well as Germans: you can meet them all year long in Algarve as well as in French Britanny. More or less you notice the same behaviour with Dutch surfers.
-French don't hide there preferences and choose Portugal and Spain's Northshore for their summer break. If they have a higher budget, they have a preference for Morocco.
-Italians -depending on the year- choose to escape from Europe and to discover the pleasure of surfing reefs in Oceanian Islands. If they decide to stay in the Old Continent, the probability to meet them in the French or Spanish Basque Country is high.
-Spanish as well as Portuguese will stay at home... Why should they leave if the wave potential is so good there?

To conclude, the way to travel is not only conditioned by the money you have and the search of the best wave conditions, even if it matters... It seems that there is another factor: the local trends imposed by the community. Sad, isn't it?

When will we stop to have a sheeplike behaviour and enjoy one of the few privileges this sport offers us? We are fortunate because we are not supposed to respect any rules. No one says us how we should surf or where we should surf. So, why should we continue to behave like the others?
